Job Overview

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will design and deliver a planning capability giving end to end visibility of all components, subassemblies and assemblies that form part of Eggtronic customer and product lines (B2B and B2C). They will develop an S&OP (Sales & Operations planning) process in collaboration with Sales and Finance that captures the demand signals and create supply plans that maximize on-time deliver performance whilst minimizing working capital and inventory requirements on the business.
The planning manager is responsible for master data (quality, coverage and accuracy), creating the right instrumentation to make good decisions and reporting to ensure that all stakeholders are informed (including suppliers).
The planning manager will be responsible for a master data expert who will report to her/him.



The ideal candidate:
Background:
  • Is an experienced planner who is looking to run and professionalise the planning function in a growing company.
  • Has worked in a company that supplies electronic hardware products in volume to either Consumers (B2C), Businesses (B2B), or both.
  • Has a minimum of 3 years planning experience.
  • Has devised and implemented planning systems and processes (having ideally introduced an S&OP process)
  • Has experience of trading with ASIA (both procurement and manufacturing) either directly or via a local office.
  • Has experience of working with Sales teams to interpret and consolidate customer demand signal in readiness for supply planning.
  • Has worked with purchasing/procurement teams to produce supply planning schedules that maximise on-time delivery performance whilst minimising working capital impact and inventory.
  • Understands that ‘inventory is a substitute for information’ and knows how to plan responsibly
  • Has experience of planning the supply of integrated circuits
  • Is comfortable working with Development teams on New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Has worked directly with Finance functions and understands the importance of their priorities.
  • Has a relevant professional qualification

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Introducing a Sales and Operations planning (S&OP) process that consolidates demand and supply planning into a monthly meeting regime where buying decision are taken using good quality information.
  • Introducing a set of performance measures (KPI’s / PI’s) designed to elevate planning performance over time and that are visible to all.
  • Introducing a system based planning methodology (MRPII) that responds quickly and easily to changing demand signals
  • Introducing a supplier forecasting process (mix of binding and non-binding) that provides supplier with the most accurate and up to date information available for them to plan.
  • Develops the ERP system to become a powerful and effective business tool
  • Line manager for Master Data Expert
  • Ensuring that master data coverage, accuracy and quality is at sufficient levels to be a trusted data source by all.
  • Ensuring that planning decisions are made at the right levels and at the right times (governance). This includes providing the approver with sufficient qualifying information to enable them to make informed decisions.
  • Measures supplier performance (specifically delivery to promise and service performance)
  • Ensures that all part numbers are transacted in a timely manner and accurately on the system.
  • Ensures that stock is reported accurately (validation through quarterly/yearly stock checks)
  • Working with Development teams on New Product Introductions (NPI’s)
  • Working with Finance teams to ensure that business planning is ‘in control’
  • Input to annual budgeting process
